  I can totally agree with our site neighbors Lesley and Ian, we had a touring caravan and in 2011 just found Mermaid when looking at another site. Fell in love with the site and the area, All the staff from the management and site workers cannot do enough for you and our fellow caravan ears are all a friendly bunch. Cannot wait for the season to start

  I will not be turning up to furnichurch as I found my experience very uncomfortable and the staff are very rude and the manager who doesnt give too hoots about anything and locks himself away, and I get bad attitude from the woman who shouts at you if she doesnt like you, she will also call the cops and whoever she talks to on the phone she shouts at them, I had to leave cause that is not the way workers you should ne er treat customers like that if that was me I would have been fired...

• Review of "The Ferryboat" at Mablethorpe

  We wish Mabelthorpe every year, whether for a week, a couple of days or just a day while staying nearby. The Ferryboat has long been our favourite place to eat after a nice walk along the beach. Not any more! Apparently this has now been taken over by Haven who have effectively ruined what was a little goldmine. The pub was always busy and always served good portions of great food with excellent service. This visit was exactly the opposite. The pub was almost empty despite it being glorious weather. Maybe this should have tipped us off. The menu has changed with old favourites (their lasagne was to die for) removed and prices hiked considerably. No more Pizza & kebab menu available either. Anyway, since we were already here we ordered from the solitary bar man who was pleasant enough and took our seats and waited...and waited. While we waited the family a few tables down went to the bar to ask how long their desserts would be as theyd been waiting 25 minutes for them. Thankfully our wait wasnt quite as long but we got our food before they got their desserts. So, the food. Well firstly, the prices may be bigger but the portions are smaller. My piece of fish wasnt very big and the batter looked overdone before I touched it. Once I cut into it I found the fish was actually much smaller, overcooked and tough with loads of empty batter around it. My wife had a Quiche salad with a tiny piece of quiche that looked like Sainsburys Basics Quiche. The crust was so hard she literally could not cut it with her knife and had to tear it off and bite it. The salad was unimpressive. My son had his favourite chicken nuggets and chips, expecting a handful of nuggets like previously. Needless to say he was disappointed to get only two. The chips were nice. The family fun atmosphere of previous visits just wasnt there and even later after visiting the beach the place looked deserted while up the road in Mabelthorpe everywhere seemed packed. Would we visit again? Nope! Would we recommend it? No!
